Gibraltar PS 60th Exhibition 2025
26th November 2025
In September 2025 I was hugely privileged and honoured to judge the Gibraltar Photographic Society’s 60th Annual Print Exhibition. My wife and I had a full week of activities in Gibraltar during our stay, our last time performing this role having been 9 years earlier in 2016.
The standard of photography was exceptional, with individual awards, awards for novices, awards for panels of 3, and colour and monochrome sections. My choice of overall best print was an exceptional portrait of a monkey with its baby, in almost human like position. It was a highly deserved winner, by John Piris an advanced member of the club.
In addition I was honoured to do a presentation of my own prints to the society at its club premises, where I displayed large 50x40cm unmounted prints, all on Fotospeed paper. All the prints were then presented to individual club members at the celebration dinner at the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club. I was also very pleased to present the club with a framed portrait print of their esteemed former President, Arthur Harper LRPS that I took on my previous visit. Sadly Arthur is no longer with us, having passed away in December 2022.
Patricia and I convey our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the Gibraltar PS for their generous and warm welcome back to Gibraltar. We thoroughly enjoy our visits and look forward to returning in the future. Thanks in particular to club chairman Leslie Linares, John Piris and Pepe Codali, Caroline Abrines, Jim and Jeanine Crone, and Marie Risso and all members of the club.
