Ross McKelvey MPAGB FIPF EFIAP/G FBPE - Awarded over 500 Medals (and too many lesser awards to count!) in National & International Exhibitions since 2010. President and founder of Catchlight Camera Club, Belfast.
I founded Catchlight Camera Club in Belfast in September 2012, and served as Chairman for the first 2 years - winning the Top Club in NIPA Title in 2014, and becoming the first camera club from Northern Ireland to win the Plate Compeition at the UK Print Championships at Connahs Quay in October 2013. We followed this in 2014, by becoming the first Club from N.I to qualify for the Final of the competition, and finished 5th overall. This feat was repeated in 2016 and again in 2017. Catchlight CC has now won the PAGB Print Championships for 4 years in a row - a record!
In 2017 and again in 2024, the Club won the FIAP World Cup for Camera Clubs!
Catchlight CC has now won the Irish Club Championships for the last 8 years in succession!
In April 2013 I became only the second photographer from N.Ireland to obtain the Master Award from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (MPAGB) - an award which is judged to "the Highest Standards of UK Amateur Photography." Since then I have mentored 4 N.I photographers to achieve the same MPAGB award.
In May 2014 I was awarded the Fellowship of the Irish Photographic Federation (FIPF) - the highest award they confer, for a Panel of 20 monochrome portrait prints. I am now a proud member of the IPF Distinctions Assessment Panel.
In June 2018 I received the Excellence FIAP/Platinum (EFIAP/p) distinction from the Federation Internationale De l'Art Photographique, in recognition of having over 1,200 prints accepted into at least 30 different Countries, collecting numerous awards and medals along the way.
In 2016 I also achieved the Fellowship of the British Photographic Exhibitions (FBPE) becoming only the 25th FBPE in 25 years of its existence.
In December 2016 I was delighted to accept an invitation to become a member of the London Salon of Photography - for 100 years, membership of the London Salon has been coveted and respected as one of the highest distinctions in the photographic world.

In May 2019 I was voted in as the President of Catchlight Camera Club!
